New Director of Residential Services at Hamaspik Kings

Be it Hamaspik of Kings, Orange or Rockland Counties, the Residential Services Director is the manager’s manager—an experienced veteran with that crucial blend of human touch and clinical proficiency, a problem-solver but also a people person.

In Mr. Yecheskel “Chezkel” Fisher, Hamaspik of Kings County has found all of that, and more.

Mr. Fisher official came on board with Hamaspik Kings as its new Director of Residential Services, overseeing captain-like all goings-on in the agency’s IRA group homes and shouldering personal responsibility for solving—and proactively preventing—problems alongside Hamaspik of Kings’ capable home-managerial team of Mrs. Malkie Cziment (South 9th Shvesterheim), Mr. Israel (Ervin) Indig (38th St. Shvesterheim) and Mr. Joseph “Yossi” Moskovits (61st St. Briderheim).

Under the leadership of Hamaspik of Kings County Executive Director Joel Freund, and with assistance from the greater Hamaspik Kings Direct Support Professional (DSP) and Medicaid Service Coordinator (MSC) team, Mr. Fisher is sure to continue Hamaspik’s unimpeachable traditional of meticulous excellence.  Welcome, Mr. Fisher!

Hamaspik of Kings County leaders attend community event

A forum on the relation in recent decades between the Jewish and black communities is not exactly the first place you’d expect to find Hamaspik.

But, leading community organization that it is, Hamaspik had a presence at a two-hour discussion entitled From Selma to Sabbath: Parallel Paths to Civil and Religious Rights in the United States.

The event was held on July 15, 2015 in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Borough Park, home to a sizable disability community serviced by Hamaspik out of its centrally-located administrative building.

Among high-profile guests at the event moderated by respected community activist Chaskel Bennett were former New York Governor David A. Paterson and Deborah M. Lauter, Director of Civil Rights for the Anti-Defamation League (ADL).

Also in attendance were Hamaspik very own Mordechai Wolhendler, Downstate Regional Director for HamaspikCare, along with Hamaspik of Kings County Director of Development Naftali “Tully” Tessler.
